Salary Range: (Band 8) $139,957 - $151,454 per annum plus generous superannuation

(Remuneration stated is for full-time positions)

City Planning and Economic Development develops strategic planning policy, economic strategies, quality urban design creative outcomes and key legislation including the Brisbane City Plan 2014. Monitoring Brisbane’s growth under the Brisbane City Plan 2014 and South East Queensland Regional Plan is critical for making the future of the city happen, aligned to the themes of Brisbane Vision 2031.

As part of Strategic Planning, the Infrastructure Coordination team lead infrastructure planning and co-ordination, guide financial investment and delivery and develop infrastructure charges policy to encourage growth in key industry sectors.

The Role

As Team Manager Infrastructure Coordination you will have a fantastic opportunity to drive infrastructure planning and policy to improve the liveability for the Brisbane community. This dynamic role is for an experienced leader with a collaborative approach. Use your strong interpersonal skills to lead a team of specialist urban planners to deliver infrastructure charges policy and initiatives, undertake strategic infrastructure planning at a precinct and citywide scale through the Local government infrastructure plan and develop systems to achieve integration with land use planning in a coordinated and affordable way. 

You will use your expert knowledge to advocate on Council’s behalf regarding the legislative framework for infrastructure planning, charging and delivery with other levels of government and key external stakeholders.

 To succeed you will demonstrate:

  • Experience leading, motivating, developing people, and growing future leaders
  • excellent negotiation, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills
  • demonstrated experience in the delivery of policy, budgets, and projects
  • extensive capability to research, evaluate, implement, and accurately apply relevant legislation for decision making
  • proven ability to engage, influence and work with the leadership team and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
  • highly developed stakeholder relationship and advocacy skills.
