Scope of Position
Reporting to the ICT Business Applications Manager, the Technical ApplicationsPortfolio Lead (Contractor) responsible for the support and maintenance of Brisbane Airports IT applications and software-based services through the use of contemporary Applications Management frameworks.
Key deliverables associated with this role include:
Working with application owners and vendors to ensure applications support business outcomes and are technically fit.
This includes delivery of activities related to application lifecycle management, change management (technical and process), risk management, application onboarding/offboarding and technical admin support of COTS and SaaS based applications.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support/Administer BAC software applications ensuring they are maintained / managed together with the application owners, technology architects and software vendor(s).
- Evaluate new release upgrades and determine the need and timing of applying the release to our environment based on the features, change management, and ICT guiding principle for application maintenance.
- Manage application vendor/contracts by applying contemporary contract management frameworks ensuring that licensing costs per application are optimised and that the vendor is meeting its contractual requirements
- Capture, maintain and report on application metadata in our chosen architectural repository (iServer365). Utilise this information to ensure that applications are effectively lifecycle managed from conception to retirement.
- Develop and report on application health/service levels
- Develop application lifecycle management plans (36 month horizon view) for applications in use at BAC
- Link applications to business capabilities to ensure that BAC is realising value from its investments ensuring that redundant / underutilised applications are remediated.
- Consolidate application infrastructure to allow better allocation of resource infrastructure.
- Capture and manage risk and opportunities related to BAC applications.
- Contribute to ICT projects by providing applications management subject matter expertise.
- Participate in the change management process for Applications.
- Act as the ICT SME on enhancements at initiation and release points.
- Participate on the on-call roster to take calls and respond accordingly to incidents or maintenance activities that may occur outside of normal working hours
