As our Portfolio Lead, for Network & Major Work Services you're going to be the driving force behind a group of specialists within this category. Your mission is to optimize our external sourcing, ensuring we achieve the outcomes we desire at Powerlink. This role is all about creating and executing strategies, building relationships with our suppliers, managing risks, and being a real catalyst for change.
You will;

  • You'll be developing category strategies based on a mix of market smarts, talking to our stakeholders, and assessing risks. Your knack for gathering insights and presenting data will help the business make informed decisions
  • Working closely with our Strategic Sourcing Team Leader, you'll ensure that our sourcing outcomes are in line with our category strategy objectives
  • Take charge of managing relationships with our key strategic suppliers in the Network and Major Works Services category
  • Identify and manage risks within our category. Understand what keeps us up at night, develop strategies to keep those worries at bay, and keep a watchful eye on those risk levels
  • You'll keep a finger on the pulse of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. Attend conferences, rub shoulders with peers, and be the go-to person for all things procurement
  • Develop strategies to keep our supply chain resilient, especially within the Network & Major Work Services category
  • Your business cases and presentations will be the secret sauce to get key executives and other internal stakeholders on board with your ideas
  • Drive commercial capabilities across the board. Shape our demand requirements to save money, reduce risks, and spark innovation
  • Make sure the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP) requirements are baked into our category strategy
  • Offer your expertise on strategic, complex, and high-value cross-corporation initiatives that involve the external market
  • Contribute to our annual Strategic Procurement Team strategy, KPI, and Target setting, taking ownership for the delivery of specific initiatives
What you'll bring
Ideally, you will hold a Degree in Supply, Procurement, Business or Law and have previous experiencing in leading a high performing team.
You will have demonstrated experience in;
  • Leading a team within a procurement & supply function
  • Gathering, interpreting and applying market intelligence to achieve best for business category strategies
  • Conceptualising various contract models that are designed to be fit for purpose
  • Building and maintain supplier relationships with a focus on collaboration and improved performance
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain resilience risk and mitigation strategy development
  • Knowledge of current external regulatory requirements that relate to procurement and affect Powerlink
  • Identifying & implementing new technologies and processes to improve the business
