Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a Technical Director - Energy with strong business development acumen to join our multi-disciplinary Buildings and Energy team in the ACT/SNSW office.
As we look to transition from traditional energy sources to adopt more renewable alternatives, you can play a key role in enabling and accelerating this change. We’ll support you every step of the way as you join us in finding sustainable energy solutions to make a positive impact that will last for generations.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about energy, sustainability and engaging with potential and existing clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Key client Relationship and portfolio growth,responsible to engage with new and existing clients to develop the existing Future Energy business in the ACT/SNSW
- Opportunity to grow the business to new heights, on sound market analysis and business fundamentals. Leverage GHD’s extensive network of clients, as well as internal support framework of Market Leaders and Relationship Managers to build on and strengthen new and existing clients.
- Work within a mature, multidisciplinary business that includes high performing engineering, advisory and design disciplines. Leverage opportunities to serve clients across a broad spectrum of markets and typologies.
- Manage large projects effectively and simultaneously – achieve optimal technical, commercial and client satisfaction results.
- You will gain substantial national project management and technical leadership exposure, developing a broader perspective on design delivery.
- Collaborate on large projects with teams across Australia.
- Coach and mentor junior members of the team.
What you will bring to the team:
- Approximately 20 years’ experience within the field of energy and transmission systems.
- Strong business development and business growth background
- Experience in managing multiple projects.
- Flexible in approach to challenges
- Project/Client problem solving focus.
- Experience leveraging networking and demonstrate strong ability to influence and negotiate effectively around a range of interests, assist team with technical performance and general team cohesion.
- Strong knowledge of the energy and distribution market within the ACT, NSW and the Australian market more broadly
- Identify client opportunities and write capture plans, craft bid strategy, develop content, finalize and submit proposals and seek client feedback.
