To support a rapidly expanding business, we are seeking a Technical Officer with demonstrated experience in supporting engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines including the Electronic and Mechanical domains. This position is permanent and based in Fyshwick, Canberra. Advanced Design Technology may consider supporting relocation within Australia for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance in the analysis, design, and test phases of projects.
- Assembly and troubleshooting of electronic systems and components.
- Assembly and testing of mechanical assemblies.
- Creation and execution of procedures, including those relating to testing and instructions and procedures for operation.
- Undertake mechanical assembly of complex electronics subassemblies.
- Design and manufacture military standard cable harness assemblies.
- Create, publish, and maintain assembly technical documentation.
- Create, publish, and maintain technical instruction/ procedural documentation.
To be successful in this role, the candidate will ideally have a combination of the following.
- Associate Diploma or Certificate in Electronics or Engineering discipline and/or relevant experience.
- General IT\Electronic technical skills.
- An understanding of Radio Frequency (RF)
- General hands-on mechanical skills.
- Understanding of electronic fundamentals.
- An understanding of IPC standard soldering guidelines
- Knowledge of military standards and work practices
- Ability to work autonomously, with a high level of initiative.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Experience in the creation of technical documentation and reports.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
1 or 2 years experience is desirable
