About the Position
The City of Onkaparinga is experiencing an increase in large scale residential developments in our region and we require a Technical Officer to assist in Development Engineering responses to the ongoing challenges this brings. The Technical Officer works in conjunction with our Senior Development and Engineering Coordinator, Planners, Property Section, Legal Section and Engineers to lead the technical approvals and to coordinate legal agreements on land division applications. The preparation of legal agreements for bonding and external works is required in conjunction with Council’s Planners.
This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to interact with senior Council staff and developers to assist in delivering outstanding subdivision projects. The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of current planning regulations and proposed amendments of the regulations, with the technical experience to coordinate input from internal stakeholders. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential, with a pragmatic approach and an ability to achieve optimum outcomes for both Council and Developers.

Working with the Senior Development and Engineering Coordinator within a professional and collaborative team in the fast-paced world of property development, your energy, positivity and ability to communicate effectively will enable you to support development applications to achieve excellent outcomes for investors and the community. You will have an ability to build rapport with planners, developers and the public to influence development proposals and apply your knowledge of statutory requirements and engineering regulations to provide valuable input at meetings.
