We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer (Nursing and Health) to provide a high level of technical support within the dedicated laboratories to teaching staff within the Department of Health, Science and Community.
In this role you will be required to utilise a large scope of skills including the use, maintenance and calibration of specialized equipment. Working closely with the Senior Educators and teaching staff within Nursing and Health, you will ensure that training and support is provided in a timely manner for all laboratory and clinical requirements. You will also provide accurate advice to the Senior Educators, Nursing and Health, Educators, Nursing and Health concerning required purchases of new equipment and laboratory or clinical consumables.
To be successful in the role you will need to possess well-developed organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, be extremely flexible, use initiative and be responsive to the needs of those that the position directly supports.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Significant knowledge and demonstrated experience in the procurement, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, preferably in Nursing and Health environment.
- High level organisational skills, including the ability to be flexible, prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed word processing, spreadsheet and database skills. Familiarity with the use of propriety software for laboratory or clinical equipment and systems.
- Demonstrated experience conducting safety assessments, preparing safety documentation and demonstrating the safe use of laboratory and clinical equipment.
A relevant qualification in Nursing and health discipline, or significant equivalent industry experience.
