SalaryOur client, based in Canberra, a modern, world leading, niche manufacturer requires a Canberra based Technical project manger for immediate start. (please note this is a hands on Engineering role NOT an IT role)The role:The primary focus of the role is to plan, schedule and implement complex interlinked technical and business projects. The portfolio of projects to be undertaken is diverse; targeting improvements in cost reduction, manufacturing, safety, quality, and business efficiency. The ideal person for this role will possess an array of diverse skills and experience covering project management, planning and organising, team leadership, technical skills relevant to the team in a manufacturing/engineering context, capital equipment procurement, the use of ERP, research and analytic skills, excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail to name some.Duties:
- Technical report writing
- Project support, including business case report writing and documentation.
- Working with the manager, undertake research and analysis activities to outline initiatives in terms of benefit, cost and risk to assist with decision making and prioritisation.
- Research and author business cases and using project management methodologies define project parameters (scope, deliverable, etc.) and subsequent project plans.
- Develop and maintain an integrated schedule of activity to manage internal and external resources to support projects through the implementation phases, with a focus on achieving milestones on-time and on-budget.
- Participate in safety and environment management and vendor management.
- Technical qualification is highly desirable e.g. project management, engineering technology
