We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales and Service Professional to join the globally recognised industry leading manufacturer, Shinagawa.

Shinagawa Refractories Australasia is a global leader in its field and the parent company, established over 145 years ago, with its global headquarters in Tokyo, is a one-of-a-kind highly reputable refractory specialist and supports every essential industry sector by providing optimal refractory solutions with the highest and most consistent product & service performance in its field.
A major supplier to Australia’s heavy industrial sector including steelmaking, mining, chemical and cement industries meeting the needs of manufacturing & process plants with some of the most advanced refractory products in the world.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales and Service professional, with solid experience and understanding of the supply of products and consumable materials and to the industrial sector, to join the Western Australian team in Kwinana, supporting clients across WA.
THE ROLE
As Technical Sales & Service Professional you will nurture and develop relationships with existing and potential clients, identify and co-ordinate all enquiries to plan short and long-term programs for major customers to provide refractory solutions and support to their needs as their preferred supplier. In addition, and critical to your success, you will identify and develop opportunities with your customer to improve the existing product and/or service package to provide a competitive advantage.
Your purpose is to bring in quality business to the company and collaborate with your team to ensure the pipeline of orders is consistent, profitable and suited to the strengths, capability and capacity of the business. In this customer focused role, you will build and nurture “trusted partner” relationships with your customers.
Key Responsibilities;
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships to respond to and meet their needs with refractory product solutions.
  • Provide input to the marketing plan on expected activities for major customers, including preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly sales forecasts.
  • Provision of product performance monitoring and technical assistance including support during shutdowns and product trials by the customer to develop and maintain relationships with customers & installers and oversee installation of product.
  • Provision of technical and trial reports for products under consideration by customers.
  • Liaise with customers regarding any payments or commercial queries and minimise payment disruptions.
  • Monitor and report on the industry, market and competitor activities on a regular basis.
  • Initiate actions and recommend solutions for the prevention of product, process, and quality system non-conformances in accordance with appropriate procedures.
YOU
  • Highly competent in developing relationships and communicating effectively with customers.
  • Strong technical solutions focused experience in a customer facing role and/or account management experience of products consumed by the heavy industrial sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in the refractory materials, products and solutions sector is highly desirable, or alternatively have relevant experience on the end-user / customer side (heavy industrial processing & manufacturing)
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical or engineering discipline is an advantage (not essential)
  • Effective in commercial negotiation.
