AddressTUROSI is a fully integrated agricultural company growing poultry and processing a wide rage if animal proteins at its processing facilities providing a full range of raw and cooked food solutions across a range of proteins to the retail and food service sectors.
A full-time position currently exists for a Technical Specialist (Food Safety Quality and Environmental Systems) based in Victoria.
The purpose of this position is to help maintain develop and implement and maintain Turosi systems relating to Environmental, Food Safety, and Quality. Ensuring maintenance of trust and integrity in the products and processes to meet customer and legislative expectations. Reporting to the Environmental Manager: Food Safety & Quality Systems.
This is an ideal role for someone who has proven themselves in an area, has excellent written English, has developed systems and is wanting to expand their scope into either FSQ or the environmental / sustainability space with a fast-growing company leading the conversation in this space.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop the Corporate Risk and Assurance programs such as the Food Safety and Quality Management, Environmental and Sustainability Systems
- Ensure these systems meet legislation, customer standards, and internal standards
- Ensure that this corporate system is adequately cascaded and rolled out to site Food Safety and Quality and Environmental Systems are continuously. Ensure any online programs supporting this system are run accordingly.
- Contribute to the internal audit and “review” program ensuring the carryout of this duty is robust and preventing and escalating risks.
- Assist with preparation and communication of ISO14001 and Environmental Risk Assessments
- Assist with site based tasks on a case by case basis if needed. GMP, HACCP Internal Audits, and other corporate systems as requested
- Conduct Training in the above areas where needed.
- You will assist with development of systems in the wider portfolio of Risk and Assurance where required Preparation of system documentation and records Contribute to Training (and induction) for the site to ensure sufficient knowledge across the business.
Knowledge / Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in food science, agricultural science, environmental science, engineering, or relevant industry experience/qualification.
- Knowledge of Risk Management, and system development
- Ability to develop quality procedures, programs, and product specifications.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word and online cloud systems such as sharepoint.
- Well organized and able to work to agreed timelines with minimal supervision day to day oversight.
- Ability to analyze and present data in a professional manner
- Attention to detail in written English.
- Absolute Trust, integrity, and professionalism.
- Ability to work in a production environment
