We are now looking for a highly experienced Technical Trainer to work out of our Alexandria location. This role will report to the Technical Manager see you develop and create a national training development program for MG dealer staff and SMA employees. Deliver face-to-face technical and non-technical training, develop, and maintain an on-line training platform. You will manage a small team and work closely with the CEO, Sales Director and Aftersales Director as well as other key stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
• Delivering training and assessment in technical & non-technical training courses
• Support in the development of teaching materials and course development of programs
• Maintaining documentation on delegates and preparing portfolios of programs specifically in MG motor vehicles
• Planning and implementing initial assessments and course reviews with delegates studying face-to-face programs or on-line courses
• Work to provide clear career pathways
• Developing materials necessary for the delivery of new Model Launch courses
• Deliver first-class training to all delegates
• Ensure dealers comply with MG policy and procedures relating to training
• Prepare and provide training to dealership staff as required
• Manage classroom and workshop to ensure a productive and safe learning environment
• Liaise with Warranty Department and facilitate training
• Liaise with factory on training and dealer issues in conjunction with Technical Manager.
• Provide assistance with technical documentation for new models.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Who are we looking for?
Technical Competencies
• Appropriate mechanical trade qualifications
• Automotive Mechanical or Electrical license essential
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment - desirable but not essential
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Technical Trainer capacity within the Automotive industry - exposure to dealerships essential
• Experience and understanding of the automotive systems and diagnostics, including exposure to customer satisfaction programs
• Project Management experience
• Commitment to Quality, Assurance, Regulations, Work Health, and Safety Principles
• Understanding of change management principles – who to consult (internal/external), when and how to succeed and lead the way with innovation, quality, and safety considerations
Behavioural competencies
• Excellent & effective communicator (written/verbal) - fluency in other language(s), especially Mandarin/Cantonese (bonus)
• Be able to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong time management, organisational and computer skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and mediate
