The Role
Based in Melbourne, the primary purpose of the Trainer is to deliver and manage the training and compliance activities across the Qube Ports operations in Victoria. This involves facilitating discussions with site management on training needs, developing and planning training solutions, scheduling and delivering training and conducting assessments to develop employee skills to meet regulatory and business requirements.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Training plans to support cost effective training solutions for your sites
- Experience with & assisting in the development of annual budgets
- Maximise training opportunities by monitoring site activities and liaising with site Superintendents to allocate trainees
- Contribute to the identification of new training opportunities and development and review of business wide training materials
- Plan, Co-ordinate and deliver in-house training, VOC’s and Refresher training as required
- Engage with site management in the development, implementation and rollout of new training programs
- Manage training records in accordance with the Training and Assessment Procedure and Learning Management System
- Provide governance and ensure compliance in meeting the requirements of the Training and Assessment procedure
- Maintain current knowledge of State based legislation, Company policies and requirements in relation to skills and competencies
- Plan, coordinate and coach workplace trainers
- Source and manage external training providers to meet the operational needs of the business
- Support and Coordinate traineeships where applicable
- Liaise and support HSE advisers to implement local training plans where applicable
What you will need
- Sound technical knowledge and experience including a current HRWL, ideally in a range of stevedoring or other industry related skills;
- Proven ability to initiate and support change related to training and demonstrated success in meeting compliance requirements.
- Sound knowledge of adult learning principles with previous experience and interest in training and coaching others to learn new skills;
- Demonstrated experience in developing, adapting and delivering learning and assessment programs
- A demonstrated ability to adapt written and oral communication or presentation style to suit varying audiences;
- Ability to take initiative in a team environment and learning from others;
- PC Literacy with intermediate level skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Demonstrated experience in training administration and LMS administration
Essential:
- Minimum qualification TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Desirable:
- Experience as a Transport and Logistics trainer
- WorkSafe Assessor qualifications
