The role
The Bendigo Art Gallery has a rare opportunity to work as a Technician. In this varied role, you will undertake a range of duties including:
- Display and hang artworks and museum objects
- Assist with the storage of the gallery collection
- Prepare and pack artworks for transit
- Receive, un-crate and re-create artworks for exhibitions
- Assist in the presentation and maintenance of the gallery display spaces
This position is 2 days per week, ideally Tuesday and Thursday.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have experience in art exhibition installation and de-installation, an understanding of the care and storage of a gallery or museum collection, excellent time management skills, good communication skills with a customer service focus and enjoy working in a busy team environment.
This role involves manual handling so understanding of safe manual handling practices and ability to (or willingness to learn) how to operate relevant equipment eg scissor lift, is required.
A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
