About the role
We are delighted to announce that we have a new opportunity for a Field Support Technician to join the Orica East Coast Metals Maintenance Team. A heavy vehicle or diesel mechanic would be suited for this role.
The role will operate on a Monday-Friday roster in support of Quarries based in Deer Park, VIC. Reporting to the Orica Asset Supervisor, the heavy vehicle/diesel mechanic will provide maintenance and technical support to our fleet of mobile and Fixed plant units.

What you will be doing
- Routine servicing and repairs to site-based, mobile, and fixed plants.
- Transition between allocated Orica sites for preventive maintenance, servicing, breakdowns, and support.
- Provide maintenance advice to site-based team leaders and managers.
- Monitor and report equipment failures, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement within the workplace.
- Promote and execute job planning and efficient resource utilization.
- Audit and make recommendations for site-based critical spares.
- Use Orica IT systems relating to asset management, 4S-SWM, EPDM, IBM Lotus Notes, and Outlook.
- Audit sites and equipment for compliance with maintenance standards. and
- Be integral to a wider team of mobile technicians and mechanics supporting Orica's operations.
What you will bring
- Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification (Essential)
- Dual trade with Auto-electric (Desirable)
- 3 + post-trade experience in similar roles within the heavy industry or mining sector
- Heavy Rigid driving license is advantageous but not essential.
- Trainer and Assessor Certificate (Desirable)
- Previous exposure to work permits
