Academic Support Unit | UniSC Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs
Level 5, $74,151 - $83,563 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
Part-time (0.6 FTE), ongoing appointment
The Opportunity
The Academic Support Unit provides a variety of support to the University’s academic functions which include work integrated learning, technical operations and school administration, providing expertise and support for innovative teaching, research excellence and outstanding learning experiences for students, ensuring these core activities meet legislative and governance requirements, and contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the Schools.
You will
provide technical expertise and support to undergraduate and post graduate teaching and facilitates
high-fidelity simulated learning for students across the disciplines of Nursing and Midwifery; and
instruct in the use of simulation equipment and clinical learning facilities and oversee the operation of the technology to ensure safe and effective use of the equipment.
Please note, flexibility in terms of hours of work is required for this position.

About you
You are energetic, versatile and have a flexible approach to your work. You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and pride yourself on your ability to work effectively both on your own or as part of team. Additionally, you will have the capacity to work under minimal supervision in a high-volume work environment and show initiative in adapting to changing situations.
You will possess:
completion of a relevant degree with experience in the provision of a broad range of clinical activities in support of teaching in a health-related discipline. An alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and experience would be considered, however, experience as a registered midwife is advantageous;
demonstrated commitment to utilising simulation methodology in learning and its ability to transform education;
a working knowledge of policies, guidelines and legislation relevant to technical services including health and safety requirements and experience in performing, documenting and implementing outcomes of risk assessments; and
strong analytical and problem solving skills relevant to a general teaching support activities.
