The Opportunity:

As a Plant Mechanic/Diesel Fitter, you will play a crucial role in our workshop operations, contributing to the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of plant machinery and diesel equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our equipment, promoting safety, and minimizing downtime.

Roster: Monday to Friday

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Plant Mechanic/Diesel Fitter, demonstrating a solid track record of successfully maintaining and repairing a variety of plant machinery and diesel equipment.
• Possession of a recognized trade qualification in diesel fitting or a related field is essential. Certification from a reputable institution or apprenticeship completion.
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues is crucial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a maintenance team, sharing insights and expertise to achieve common goals. Effective communication skills to coordinate tasks and contribute to a positive working environment.
• Commitment to workplace safety, with a thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations. Proven history of adhering to safety guidelines and promoting a culture of safety among colleagues.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks and repairs on a diverse range of plant machinery and diesel equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective solutions to restore equipment to operational conditions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities to proactively address potential issues, contributing to the overall reliability and performance of the equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on operations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including details of repairs, parts used, and equipment conditions. Generate reports as required.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations. Contribute to the development and reinforcement of safety practices within the workshop.
• Actively participate in training sessions and stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements. Apply new knowledge to improve maintenance practices.
