The Technology and Data Policy Analyst will be responsible for creating technical documentation, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner, and collaborate with various teams across the business and technology to ensure completeness and accuracy of planning, past-performance, and procedural documentation. We want our people to be financially rewarded; to feel good and to go beyond what they thought possible at work.Be you, and we’ll be better together.To find out more about our great employee benefits and what it’s like to be part of the team, reach out to our friendly talent acquisition team.Job DescriptionAs the Technology & Data Policy Analyst, you will be responsible to produce high-quality, user-friendly documentation for Defence Force Recruiting, focused on consistency, currency and compliance.Reporting to the Director of Technology Governance, you will be responsible for assessing, managing, and documenting Technology and Data procedures whilst managing the organisations adherence to various regulations, policies and industry standards.Responsibilities:The Technology and Data Policy Analyst will be responsible for formal life cycle management of IT documentation including the IT Policy governance framework. You will lead efforts to build and maintain a comprehensive program of IT policy, standards, guidelines, and procedures that support enterprise-wide IT processes and initiatives. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify information technology areas needing policy, process and procedure documentation relating to IT systems, assets, resources, services, architecture, and governance.
Creation and maintenance of IT documentation including policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Translation of technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.
Management of Technology Policy Governance framework and delivery of an effective communication and awareness of DFR’s IT policies.
Utilise technical knowledge in the development of internal and external facing publication requirements.
Develop documents in line with contractual and regulatory obligations of Adecco, ensuring alignment to requirements and expectations.
Liaising with key stakeholders across DFR to identify need for technical writer support, and plan workload accordingly and effectively.
Maintain deep knowledge of the DFR business, its priorities, its compliance obligations and operation processes.
Candidate’s ProfileTo be successful in this role, you will have 6 to 7 years of Technical Writing or ILS experience, preferably within a Defence based environment.A Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related field is preferable. Your background will demonstrate:
Extensive experience architecting complex site documents and documentation sets, information design and structured authorising documents.
Experience working with Defence or Government is desirable
The ability to learn complex drafting and engineering concepts quickly and explain with clarity and technical accuracy.
Demonstrated experience in writing technical documentation, IT policy governance.
Demonstrated experience with general technical competencies inclusive of information systems, acceptable use, access controls, systems integration, security awareness and IT governance.
Demonstrated facilitation and communication skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organisation including IT Leaders, Business Managers, Enterprise Architects, and other technical staff.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, manage responsibilities, define milestones, and plan with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Experience with industry standards and framework (ITIL, NIST, ISO, TOGAF etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong planning skills and strong time management / organisational skills
The ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders both internal and external
Sufficient technical vocabulary to allow correct interpretation and processing technical information.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
Knowledge and experience with using the Microsoft Office software suite
