MPM Engineering is telecommunication firm providing optical fibre related services for the Telstra and NBN customers. We are established business run with all members from engineering background professionals for over more than 7 years.
Your role
Due to ongoing workload and lack of resources, we are looking for a full-time Telecommunications Engineer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. The core responsibilities and tasks will include:
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Analysing business segment design packs that NBN and Telstra engineers deliver for every clients for new services.
- Installation of network terminal unit equipment to the customer sites allocated as per the design and scope of the project.
- Installation of optical fibres equipments like MRV, CISCO and NOKIA switches and take responsibility for integration process to finish the job within a time frame.
- To conduct overseeing and managing the materials, equipments and accessories supply chain needed for the completion of the sites.
- Complete the end-to-end test from both SDH and customer sides once the physical connection done to ensure all the losses fall within the range.
- Provide the trainings related to work nature and make compliance of maintaining work, health and safety..
- Assure the quality of works done, so as to match the original design in-order to pass by every stake-holders.
Requirements
- Highly experienced in using optical fibre devices like OTDR, power meter, insertion loss kit, splicing machine, laser lights and buzz test kits efficiently.
- Able to read read the design, redline diagrams and can provide appropriate troubleshooting changes if necessary.
- -Study requirement: Minimum Bachelors degree or highly preferred in Telecommunication / Electronics Engineering.
- Proven 5+ years of experience in optical fiber communication system.
- Have strong troubleshooting capabilities in both NBN and Telstra networks.
- Have proven experiences in Telstra wide-band projects and involved in different NBN projects.
- Proven experiences working under FFTC,FTTH,FTTX, BDOD and ODM wide-band projects.
- Have strong knowledge in CISCO,MRV and ADVA switches command lines for configuration setups.
- Ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Have strong knowledge in hardware and networking skills, patching details.
- Regular visit to different regional sites for different NBN projects.
- Ability to work independently and work in pressure.
- Liaising with customer and stakeholders for terms and conditions for site activities.
- Long term experiences in building NBN joints, testing and integration procedures.
- Experience in building High-Density optical fiber patching cabinets in SDH.
- Always have can-do-attitude and work under engineering ethics.
- Can supervise BDOD and N2P job independently and provide work plans to the teams.
- Experience in Telstra cut-over project.
- More than 90% job includes travelling all around NSW sites.
- Familiar with pre-start, SWMS, work audit, tool-box meetings and responsible to prepare all documents whenever necessary.
