The role with us

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has become available for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Telecommunications Network Engineer. You will Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for designs of commercial and operational telecommunication systems and manage our world-class network covering Australia and connecting businesses globally.

This is how you bring your role to life:

• Analyse scope and deliver undertake the detailed telecommunications designs role on allocated projects, in the aforementioned technologies to meet time, cost and quality requirements
• Develop telecommunications design estimates for assigned projects and tasks. This involves discussing technologies with other members of the design team and following established design philosophies
• Development of test documentation, test and deliver to agreed timelines, quality performance and customer service levels.
• Develop and/or contribute to the development of test strategies, test plans, test readiness, test report documentation.
• Be recognised as a subject matter expert for transmission technology and platforms, and provide expert support, consultancy, guidance and facilitation to other areas of the company in the preparation, business and technical evaluation of new technologies and product development.
• Maintain and build expertise on networks and products, technologies and operating systems.
• Develop and maintain standard and best practice deployment documentation and reference material.
• Work with external vendors to assess technology platforms, deliver products and services and troubleshoot advanced network issues.

About you

• At least a bachelor's degree in Electrical/Communications Engineering or relevant fields;
• 5 or more years experience in Telecommunications Network Engineering roles;
• Ability to work independently and within a team depending on the task at hand;
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications technology – Ethernet, DWDM, OTN, SDH, PDH, MPLS-TP, Segment Routing.
• Strong competence in analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and leadership.
• Stakeholder & project management.
• Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Sharepoint, Visio, Project.
