As Principal Executive Officer to the Public Guardian, you will be highly organised, focused and proactive. You will deliver high-quality executive support services, including providing strategic and operational advice to facilitate informed decision making. You will pro-actively develop a range of documents and communications, lead projects supporting the organisation’s objectives, and champion best practices across the agency’s operations.
The Principal Executive Officer also leads a small executive support team (3 direct reports), which manages all workflows from the business units through to the senior executive. You will be required to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion, maintaining trust and integrity in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will:
• Provide high quality senior executive support services in a fast paced and dynamic office;
• Manage the executive support team to deliver multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities, fostering an environment of high performance, integrity, continuous
improvement and respect;
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships internally and with external stakeholders and navigate interpersonal dynamics with diplomacy and tact;
• Prepare a wide range of communications including executive correspondence, briefing notes, speaking points, internal communications, and media releases within
short timeframes;
• Provide high level quality assurance on briefs and correspondence, ensure completeness, accuracy (including data verification), and timeliness of documentation to support the Public Guardian in meeting deadlines.
• Build a detailed knowledge of OPG's strategic priorities, operational service delivery and emerging issues, and lead projects on behalf of the Public Guardian;
• Display strong personal accountability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and manage issues of a confidential, sensitive and contentious nature with
discretion;
• Contribute to a positive, future-focused organisational culture underpinned by a genuine commitment to Queensland public service values, inclusion and diversity;
and
• Demonstrate cultural capability and a commitment to OPG's program of work to reframe the relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Tertiary qualifications in, or relevant work experience relating to, law or policy is highly desirable.
