This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of passionate educators at the Murray BridgeBetter Behaviour Centre (BBC), catering to year 2 to 6 students. The centre provides an early intervention and intensive learning programs to support students with challenging behaviours (who are at risk of disengaging or being excluded) to successfully re-engage in positive and appropriate educational opportunities.
The BBC provides:
* personalised learning program (literacy, numeracy)
* social skills and resiliency program
* family support
* capacity building for parents - individual and group
* capacity building for school staff
The primary BBC teacher is responsible to the BBC Coordinator and contributes to the design and delivery of intensive literacy, numeracy and wellbeing curricula, as well as for developing effective pedagogy for disengaged students, predominantly in a primary years context. The primary teacher possesses a rigorous understanding of current evidence-based practise in curriculum, pedagogy and behaviour management. Building effective relationships with families and mainstream school staff is required to support the development and transfer of sustainable strategies to students' enrolling schools.
This position attracts a Behaviour Support Unit Allowance in addition to the standard salary.
