Experience in a bulk fuels facility or other oil and gas facilities preferred but not essential.A challenging and rewarding role with future career opportunities for the right candidate.Our client offers a distinctive value proposition - the opportunity to be part of an industry leader and work within a company culture in which adherence to the highest standards of business conduct provides the foundation for everything they do.The PositionTerminal Operator Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Terminal Operator will perform routine activities required to run a bulk fuels facility which manages millions of litres of fuel per day.These activities include but are not limited to:Operate and maintain all facets of measurement systems, subject to Company procedures. (meters, weigh scales, gauging, injector )Comply with all health and safety and regulatory legislation.Participate in scheduled operations and safety meetingsComply with all controls standards and proceduresConduct all site business with the mindset of safety and ensure 100% compliance with the documented operating and administrative procedures outlined in the PDM and participation in all elements of the Loss Prevention System.Work with other Company departments as required, assisting with operational and maintenance activities.Act as a member of the Site Emergency Response TeamSupport the mandates of both the Product Quality and Supply groups for the purposes of maintaining superior product quality and the efficient management and resolution of supply issues.Manages and coordinates contractors and drivers with respect to safety, orientation and complianceWharf Attendant Assist the Birkenhead Operations Supervisor in the discharge of products from shipping vessels via the loading arms and pipeline.These activities include but are not limited to:Performs random safety checks of the work site.Prepare wharf documentation prior to discharge activities.Ensure wharf has adequate slops ullage for planned discharge activities.Testing equipment is calibrated and in good working order.Open and close pipeline and loading arm valves.Manual connection and disconnect of loading arms.Undertake regular pipe line walks/inspections during discharge activities.Responsible for undertaking and maintaining product test result records.Communicating product test results to Operations Supervisor during discharge activitiesThe following qualities, skills and experience will be favourably considered:Experience in brownfield, heavy industry and major hazard facilities such as miningTradesperson qualifications are highly valuedExperience in a bulk liquid fuel facility or other oil and gas facilitiesStrong safety values with a sound team focus - you will be working in a hazardous environmentAbility to work well in a teamSelf-starter who shows initiativeStrong work ethic, enthusiasm and willingness to learnStrong attention to detail particularly in relation to documentationSound organisational and time management skillsMechanical AptitudeFlexibility regarding working hours is a must as there is a requirement to work days, nights and weekends.
