This role will be responsible for planning, design, management, execution and reporting of testing activities, as well as defect identification and management. This role is responsible for supporting functional testing across various phases of testing including but not limited to System testing, Integration testing, Regression, and Production Verification Testing. Test Analyst will be required to design tests to ensure that key risks associated with the deployments are adequately understood and documented.
- Participate proactively in team meetings including but not limited to: daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, story elaboration sessions, 3 amigos, test case review and team retrospectives.
- Work with the End to End team (Developers, Business Analysts, Test lead, Product Owner, Test Analyst, Scrum Master) to define Acceptance Criteria and the Definition of Done;
- Collaborate with the End to End team members and provide Test estimations
- Actively collaborate with the End to End team members and business SME and Stakeholders to clarify requirements, especially in terms of testability, consistency, and completeness;
- Design and Script Test Cases in XRAY
- Create test cases to requirement traceability
- Ensuring the appropriate testing tasks are scheduled and executed during release;
- Ensure software releases adhere to deadlines while not compromising on quality;
- Develop in-depth knowledge of business rules, multiple systems and their respective functionality
- Adherence to A&G Organisation Testing Practices
- Ensuring proper use of testing tools
- Respond to change quickly, including changing, adding, or improving test cases;
- Report defects as per the defect management process and working with the team to resolve them;
- Accurately evaluate and report test results, test progress, and product quality;
- Develop a working understanding of test environments;
- Identify and produce Regression Suites and execute
- Collaborate with Automation Tester to ensure regression suites are kept current.
- Ensure that learned knowledge in documented and shared with Testing Community of Practice
Essential:
Qualifications, Education & Training Requirements
- A degree relating to the Information Technology field from a recognised tertiary institution or other qualifications or experience considered acceptable by Auto and General.
- ISTQB Certified
- Relevant Industry Experience
Experience
- Min 3 years experience as a Test Analyst
- Demonstrated experience in creating test plans, test traceability matrix, test case design. Execution, defect management, and test reports
- Experience in working in an Agile environment
- Relevant Industry experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of software development methodologies including AGILE/Scrum Continuous Delivery including agile testing.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, XRAY or similar
- Demonstrated use of testing techniques such as Risk Based testing, BDD, TDD
- Ability to actively contribute to Testing CoP
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and techniques including but not limited to BDD, TDD, Risk based testing.
- Understanding of Testing pyramid
- Proactive and takes initiative
- Pragmatic and resilient to change.
