The role
Assist operational leadership in the delivery of A&G’s risk management strategy. Use data to analyse the level of risk exposure and evaluate the control environment. Provide insight, analysis, and automation solutions to optimise the first-line Risk Management function to protect the organisational resources and business strategy.
Position Accountabilities
- Take all reasonable directions from leaders to comply with the organisation’s workplace health & safety (WHS) protocols. WHS is everyone’s responsibility.
- Help to build a strong risk and data-driven culture in Product and C&A.
- Analyse data to better understand potential and emerging risks to support a targeted controls assurance program.
- Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment.
- Assist with the compilation of management reporting packs and Board papers.
- Design and deliver reports and analysis artefacts.
- Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyse and present data.
- Constantly keep a check on compliance requirements.
- Undertake end-to-end arm’s length reviews of control systems to identify leakage points and provide recommendations for rectification.
- Maintain reasonable knowledge of regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain a business glossary for consistent interpretation and use of common business terminology.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant degree qualification.
- 2-3 years business experience within the financial services industry, preferably insurance.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills & Power BI skills.
- Experience in business performance analysis, partnering and commercial acumen.
- Strong relationship and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation across a wide variety of stakeholders including IT.
- Finance; Operations, Data Teams.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear action.
- Ability to investigate and analyse commercial and financial reports, to make informed decisions to improve business processes and performance.
- Curious and able to utilise investigation and research skills to solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet daily deadlines for projects.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data.
- Quantitative and analytical skills
- Financial services, general insurance and claims management preferred.
- Previous exposure to risk management and/or auditing.
