About the role:
The Test Manager is responsible for the governance of application testing activities, within project delivery. This involves the planning, design, execution, and reporting of test cases to ensure that applications meet expected quality standards and functional requirements.
Collaboration with business stakeholders, Project Manager, Business Analysts and vendors is critical to ensure that testing aligns with project goals and objectives.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Manage the development, documentation and delivery of Test planning and Test scripts related to the ERP and the integrated TMS
- Actively manage and lead the preparation, peer-review, and execution of test scripts
- Manage the defect lifecycle, from identification through resolution, ensuring all identified defects are resolved or have an action plan / workaround in place before the completion of the testing period.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the test team, project team, stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure testing objectives are achieved
- Advise on best testing practice testing, tools and techniques and lead the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of testing
- Assist with risk identification and mitigation strategies related to testing activities and implementing mitigation actions to address them
- Facilitate a daily triage with the test team, stakeholders and application vendors
- Provide mentoring to testers to enhance their skills and capabilities
Skills and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a Test Manager role, preferably in an Integrated ERP capacity,
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Able to problem solve
- A strong understanding of manual testing methodologies
- Understanding of Agile environments and development practices e.g. JIRA boards
- Previous experience working with external vendor software development teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the use of PRONTO and JIRA plug-in test tools is desirable
- Exposure or previous experience in ERP application testing is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain, Transport and/or Warehousing preferred not desirable
