We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Textile Screen Printer (known internally as Press Operator) to join our team.
Working alongside our Senior Operator, Press Operator and Junior operators you will play an integral part in ensuring that Garment Decoration activities in our production facility are in line with our customer expectations and DMND’s operational requirements. In the role you will also be responsible for guiding, supervising, training, and developing our Junior staff.
The role would suit an experienced Screen Printer who is data driven, shows initiative and is committed to continuous improvement in their work and processes.
Your typical week will involve:
- Setting up & adjusting the machines for print quality.
- Counting and checking-in garments so they are ready to print.
- Mixing and colour matching screen-printing inks.
- Cleaning and preparing screens for production.
- Operating t-shirt screen-printing and heat-press equipment.
- Loading and unloading garments in production, inspecting product and print quality for defects.
- Identifying quality variations and attention to detail of all final printed work.
- Participating in Production and Safety meetings.
- Supporting the Senior Operator in forward planning of the production rooms consumables and equipment ready for the next job including maintaining consumables stock levels, completing stock takes as scheduled.
- Assist in on-the-job training of junior staff in conjunction with the Senior Operator
- Undertaking housekeeping and routine maintenance cleaning, maintaining and storing of tools and production equipment.
- Storing and packing of goods and materials in accordance with appropriate procedures.
- Troubleshooting of printing issues, and escalating issues as required.
This role will require you to be flexible in your approach to work, be highly organised to manage multiple projects at the one time, with a strong attention to detail.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Experience in the industry including practical experience in a full-service print production environment.
- Knowledge of ERP, Prepress and Ink Management software systems.
- Knowledge of procedures in quality control for production and an understanding of continual improvement processes.
- Broad industry knowledge and end-to-end capabilities across Screen and Stencil preparation, Ink mixing and colour matching, Substrate and Ink system compatibility and Machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
- An active understanding of workplace health and safety.
