- Pre and post-surgery, as well as assist nurses and doctors with manual handling of patients
- Setting up and cleaning of medical equipment and medical gases
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical cases
- Cleaning operating rooms and maintaining equipment after each case in accordance with infection control procedures
- Undertake positioning of patients utilising manual handling principles and
- Other duties as directed
- Currently hold a Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice) or Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
- Minimum of two years previous experience in an Operating Theatre Assistant role would be highly desirable
- Demonstrated a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Proven ability to follow established guidelines, policies & procedures
- Basic understanding of, or ability to acquire knowledge of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviours as applied in the working environment
