Job Description

In this role, based in Epworth Richmond, you will be responsible for carrying out tasks required for the Theatre Reception. You will be part of the Perioperative Services Administration team and report to the Business Manager, Perioperative Services & Critical Care.

Join our team and play an integral role in the running of a busy hospital. Help patients, visitors and staff access our wide variety of services. Answer and triage calls to the switchboard in a courteous and timely manner.

You will be flexible to work on a rotating roster across all shift times. Shift hours vary between 7:00am to 9:00pm across a 5-day roster Monday to Friday.  

You will make an impact by:

  • Working on the switchboard answering internal and external calls
  • Assisting patients, visitors and staff within the hospital
  • Completing a variety of administrative duties
  • Having a strong customer service focus
  • Prioritising tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Managing pressure and making informed decisions according to hospital need

To be successful in this role…

You will be experienced in a service industry in reception and administration and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have:

  • Excellent computer literacy skills including all MS Office and able to efficiently learn specialist programs used within the Department
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts across the weekly roster
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy in your work
  • Great relationship and people skills
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational attributes
  • Ability to be innovative, proactive and creative - if you see a better way of doing things we would love to hear!
