The Opportunity:

Junction is seeking future talent to join our Therapeutic Residential Care Team in our Northern, Southern and Mount Barker. Harnessing your knowledge, skills, and passion, you will be responsible for:

  • Building Resilience: Through evidence-based therapeutic interventions, you will equip young people with the skills and confidence to overcome trauma and navigate challenges.
  • Championing Wellbeing: You will contribute to a safe and nurturing environment, promoting positive relationships and fostering a sense of belonging within our residential care settings.
  • Joining a Collaborative Team: You will work alongside a network of dedicated professionals, drawing on collective expertise and unwavering support to achieve lasting outcomes.

A day in this role may include:

  • Facilitating client participation in a range of educational and recreational activities to enhance their physical, social, emotional and intellectual development;
  • Producing accurate case notes, interaction records, log entries, Client Incident Reports, and plans;
  • Maintaining the property in a clean and hygienic manner; and
  • Planning and preparing meals for children and young people in line with healthy food choices and safe food-handling requirements.

About you:

We are seeking a highly passionate individual who:

  • Holds an certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services or equivalent (or working towards)
  • Has demonstrated experience in responding to trauma-related behaviours
  • Has the ability to work across 24/7 roster and undertake passive (sleepover) and active night shifts
  • A sound interpersonal skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with clients, staff, and external agencies

You will need to:

  • Complete our online application process
  • Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process which will include psychological assessments
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Hold a current Safe Environments Certificate
  • Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s licence and be willing to drive
  • Be prepared to undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training within 6 months of commencing with Junction and complete a 5-day onboarding and induction process.
