We are looking for eager candidates who are interested in timber, design, and the construction industries for our Timber Systems Design trainee position!
Our Host Member is a major timber and building products company who are passionate about design. They deliver a high level of service to their customers and are looking for a junior to train in detailing and estimating.

Reading plans, drawings, and specifications, creating drawings using computer aided software, delivering and monitoring a service to customers, accessing and providing timber and wood product information and much more is what your day-to-day would look like.
Ideally this role would be suited to someone who is proficient in maths, has a great attention to detail, an interest in design and a willingness to learn. Experience in an office setting or in timber is desirable but not essential.
This opportunity is open to entry level applicants who demonstrate a willingness to learn, commitment, good communication, excellent computer skills and an eye for detail along with the ability to problem solve. Not only do you get secure, stable full-time hours, but also a fantastic opportunity to work towards a career and nationally recognised qualification in Certificate III in Timber Systems Design.
What's involved?
During the training contact duration you get to the learn the following:
- Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) / Drafting
- Learn specific software
- Carry out measurements and calculations
- Computer/data entry
- Supporting team members with various duties
- WHS procedures and housekeeping
