ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Structural Drafter/CAD Designer/Steel Detailer to assist our team in drafting structural designs using both CAD & proprietary software packages.
The successful candidate has at least 3 years’ experience in drafting structural designs of building elements. Previous experience working with structural steel is preferable but not essential.
The duties of the role will encompass:
- Develop detailed and precise pre-fabrication drawings based on project specifications from galvanized “C” section using propriety bracketry.
- Creation of bills of materials, punching details and purchase orders.
- Competency to interpret and implement design specifications and calculations.
- Ability work under direction of engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and models based on customer’s needs.
- High attention to detail and quality control of finished product.
- Understanding design costs per project and ability to accurately quote labour costs out to client.
ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for a driven and passionate individual with proven expertise in structural drafting and design work for immediate start.
Required skills are as follows:
- Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD a software package (preferably in IRONCAD or ability to learn).
- High attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and creation of bill of materials.
- Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously when required.
- Willingness to adapt, learn and apply new technologies and workflows.
- Australian permanent residency.
