ABOUT TOSCANO'S
Toscano's is a leading fresh-food retailer and Italian delicatessen that has been family owned and run since 1950. We specialise in premium produce and gourmet ingredients, with a focus on Italian, local and artisanal products.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable candidate to manage and run the Delicatessen department of our Victoria Gardens Store in Richmond.
This role is permanent full-time with all day-time hours, and candidates must be available to work either Saturday or Sunday. We are flexible when arranging the set work days and hours to suit the candidate's personal situation and lifestyle.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Running and maintaining the deli department
- Provision of outstanding customer service, which will include excellent food and product knowledge
- Manage the team with daily tasks and expectations, performance, training & development and appraisals
- Stock management, ordering and sourcing
- Ensuring that the deli section is run in accordance with all food-safety standards and laws
SUITABLE CANDIDATES
Suitable candidates will have a combination of the following skills and experience:
- A passion for the Italian cuisine
- Previous experience in a delicatessen position (essential)
- Excellent product knowledge, and an ability to discuss/assist customers with a range of food-related enquiries
- Previous management experience will be highly favourable
- Excellent organisation and a strong work-ethic
- Ability to work both autonomously, and as part of a larger team
- Exemplary personal hygiene and personal presentation
