Tour Guide / Naturalist - Dolphin & Whale Tours, Broome

Your Role

Naturalist / Marine Biologist Tour Guide to conduct 3hr Humpback Whale Tours and Snubfin Dolphin Cruises. You will be educating guests about the marine life and providing an enjoyable and memorable experience. Tours are conducted on a 65ft charter vessel departing from Broome. Other tour related jobs are included in this position.

Your Duties

• Provide informative, engaging commentary, ensuring our guests have an outstanding experience on tour.
• Marine mammal research & data entry. 
• Some passenger transfers & guest assistance with loading & disembarking of vehicles & vessels.
• Administration duties & tour sales.
• Being a team player, working closely with all other staff to deliver the greatest experience for our guests.
• Maintain an exceptional level of personal presentation.
• Deliver outstanding customer service & establish a rapport with all of our guests.

Successful applicants must have the following attributes:

• Must be confident in public speaking.
• A current manual C Class Australian drivers licence and must obtain LR licence upon receiving employment, prior to start date.
• RSA certification required.
• Previous experience in tour guiding role.
• Previous experience in Naturalist role, Marine Biologist qualifications preferred.
• Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Computer knowledge of Word, Excel & Outlook. Use of Mac and Windows computer systems is a bonus.
• Have excellent communication skills and speak fluent English.
• Have a basic knowledge of the fauna of the Kimberley Region.
• Multi task in a fast paced environment often working under pressure.
• Available to work on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday.
• Current Senior First Aid preferred.
• Experience on commercial boats preferred.

This seasonal position commences in April through to late October / early November, with 5 days work per week guaranteed. Extended position working from home during the low season is a possibility for the right person. Applicants are required to relocate to Broome for the term of employment. Short term accommodation can be provided if needed.
