Tourism Manager
The National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC) is one of Adelaide’s leading tourism and hospitality venues situated in the vibrant East End of Adelaide’s CBD. Our building is an architectural gem, nestled in the parklands, next to the Botanic Garden. The venue plays host to over 50,000 international, interstate, and local visitors per year, in addition to hosting over 800 events, such as meetings, banquets and weddings.
With an established track record of excellence in the industry, our venue is renowned for its beautiful location, premium wines, and exceptional customer service. As part of our calendar of activities, the NWC curates our own events throughout the year to highlight seasons and wine varietals.
We are seeking an experienced Tourism Manager to help us elevate our visitor experiences and expand our reach. This is a pivotal role in positioning the NWC within the tourism and wine industries and internally, the role is involved in partnerships across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to attract new business and enhance visitor experiences.
- Oversee daily operations of the tourism department, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Manage distribution systems to optimize sales and visitor engagement.
- Create and maintain partnerships with local and international tour operators and agencies.
- Analyse market trends and visitor feedback to continuously improve our services.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in tourism management, with wine tourism an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of distribution systems including Rezdy and best practices in tourism.
- Proven ability to attract new business and build lasting relationships with tourism partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Passion for wine and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
