Tours and Customer Service unit
Department of the Legislative Assembly

About the role
The Tours and Customer Service unit sits within the Department of the Legislative Assembly and provides community engagement programs, particularly tours and outreach programs for school students. The unit plays an important customer service and visitor management role as the first point of contact for visitors to Parliament House. When Parliament is sitting, the unit provides support to the Assembly Chamber.
The Tours and Outreach Officer contributes to the work of the unit and promoting the role of Parliament by leading tours and roleplays at Parliament House, connecting to schools virtually through online incursions, and attending regional and metropolitan visits as required. The Tours and Outreach Officer provides impartial front of house support and customer service to a range of stakeholder and assists with the operation of the Assembly Chamber on Sitting Days.
About you
You are a confident communicator who has experience presenting to people and highly developed interpersonal, organisational and time management skills. You are a supportive and collaborative team player, have the resilience and adaptability to handle difficult situations and a preparedness to accept a variety of views and opinions.
Your outstanding customer service abilities will be the key to your success in this position as you deal with a diverse range of stakeholders from community groups, school personnel and students to Members of Parliament. You will have proven experience using a range of MS Office software and the ability to problem solve basic technology-based issues. You will also have the ability to use initiative in a range of situations as required.
