Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for enthusiastic and passionate Trackless Train Driver’s to jump onboard and operate Taronga’s new Trackless Train, scheduled to be launched in mid-2024!
About the Role…
The role of the Trackless Train Driver at Taronga, is diverse and exciting with face-to-face interactions and transportation responsibility. Training will be provided to ensure you can run the basic controls of the passenger vehicle as it navigates across the Zoo with the highest possible standard.
- Shifts are typically four or seven hour blocks over a 7-day rotating roster to allow the Trackless Train to service guests between 10.00am and 4.00pm (daily);
- Shifts will start and finish 30 minutes before and after operating hours to undergo operational and cleaning duties.
- Approximately 3 shifts per week on offer + opportunity for more.
- Numerous positions available.
Key Accountabilities…
- Running the basic controls of the passenger vehicle.
- Greeting and farewelling guest.
- Performing daily operating checks and cleanliness of the vehicle for it to be ‘fit for purpose’.
- Transact payments.
- Assisting with loading/uloading luggage, prams, and wheelchairs.
- Maintaining the safety of guests boarding, disembarking, and travelling on the vehicle.
- Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and Taronga's WHS Use of Motor Vehicle Procedure; and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.
About you…
We are looking for candidates that have/are willing to:
- Demonstrated minimum 12 months experience within the Customer Service, Tourism, Hospitality, Attractions or Entertainment industry.
- Hold and maintain current First Aid and CPR Certificates at your own expense.
- Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at your own expense.
- Hold a current NSW Drivers License (full) or ability to have existing license formally recognized.
- Undertake initial and refresher training to keep abreast of all safety and operating procedures to minimize stoppages and downtime.
