HBT Services QLD is responsible for the overhauls of longwall machinery across QLD and operates under two (2) plants, being Overhauls and Gearbox repairs.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Trade Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our tradespeople and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The Trade Assistant will work across all industries and will be required to have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance to our Boilermakers.
• Using various hand and power tools.
• Assist tradespeople with various tasks including but not limited to, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials
• General cleaning of workshop.
• Clean and maintain laydown yard.
• Manual Handling.
• Operate an overhead gantry crane to safely move materials within the workshop.
• Operate forklift.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
• Communicate effectively with tradespeople and other team members
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
• Basic computer, numeracy and literacy skills.
• Working knowledge of workshop practices.
• Skilled in / licenced to use forklift and overhead cranes.
• Attention to detail.
• Working at Heights - preferable
• Ability to work well in a team environment
