About Us:
United Fuel Injection and Turbo Charger Sales & Service have been an industry leading workshop for over 45 years. As our name suggests we specialise in diesel fuel injection and turbo chargers, encompassing our light automotive, heavy diesel, turbocharger and performance departments. We pride ourselves on our customer service and our drive to ensure we maintain long lasting relationships with customers.
Our rebuild workshop is unique in that we are one of the only workshops in the state who exclusively specializes in diesel fuel injection across all makes and models of light automotive vehicles and heavy machinery. We pride ourselves in the wealth of knowledge that we have across our team of staff members, knowledge that spans multiple decades, meaning that most issues we have either seen or have had some experience with before.
About the role:
We are looking for 2 Trade Assistants to join our turbocharger rebuild workshop in Malaga, and fuel injection rebuild workshop in Redcliffe. We are looking for someone with experience in a workshop environment, or a motivated individual who is willing to learn. Due to our turbocharger department, fuel injection pump room and performance department, most repairs are done on site with very little outsourcing.
Day to day tasks include:
- Disassembly
- Cleaning of components
- Assembly
- Inspection of components
- General use of tooling
- General use of workshop equipment (lathe, sandblaster, welder etc)
- Occasional collection or delivery of supplies or parts when needed
About you:
You will probably describe yourself as someone who is able to apply themselves to any task at hand. You prefer to work at your own pace, taking time to think things through. You will enjoy working with a team and are happy to bounce ideas off others to help problem solve but do enjoy the independence and control of completing your own tasks. You pay close attention to detail, while being able to think laterally when an issue arises. You prefer to be in an environment where the task at hand is what’s important, free from drama or office politics.
What can we provide:
We offer a stable long-term position with the ability to upskill.
We will provide on the job training, showing you how to use the relevant workshop equipment.
Having a knowledgeable team with decades of experience puts us in a unique position, allowing us to help you upskill, and show you an in-depth level of understanding how a turbocharger works, both in the rebuilding and testing areas. This extra insight will help you with understanding how the entire system operates and why specific issues arise.
What you must have to apply for this role:
- Current drivers license (C class minimum, manual essential)
- Experience in a workshop would be advantageous but not mandatory
- Good understanding of mechanical principals
- Forklift ticket - would be advantageous but not mandatory
- High drive to learn and master new skills
- Stable transport to and from work
If this sounds like the job you would be interested in, we would love to get you through for an interview.
Please email through your resume and cover letter telling us a little about yourself and why you would be suited for this role.
