About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Trade Chef within the Food Services Department.
The Lyell McEwin Hospital Food Services Department is responsible for providing high quality meals to patients and staff in the facility. As a Health Ancillary Employee at this level, the Trade Chef applies skills, or trade equivalent skills acquired from extensive in-service training and/or experience in a specialised function and is responsible to the Food Service Manager and Kitchen Manager for the following:
- Responsible for daily food production in accordance with menus for patients, the Café, and special functions.
- Works collaboratively with members of Food Services and other hospital staff.
- Complies with standards of food quality, presentation, recipes, and portion control.
- Standard Operating Procedures in relation to stock security, food safety, task allocations, production schedules.
- The safe operation and cleaning of production equipment.
The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.
Shift hours are 10:00-18:30 over a 7-day roster.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
