Qualifications:Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookerywith at least 5 years experience.

Shepparton Retirement Villages (SRV) is a non-for-profit community based organisation that was founded by the Rotary Club of Shepparton in1968. Since that time SRV has become the largest provider of aged care services in the Shepparton region.

DUTIES
This position reports to the Catering Manager and is responsible for duties within the main production kitchen to ensure residents needs are met and ensures that the kitchen is kept hygienically clean to a standard set out in the food safety plan. These responsibilities of the roles need to be completed to a standard that contributes to Shepparton Villages meeting accreditation requirements.
The Trade Cook will be responsible for:
· Food production within a certain section of the production kitchen, following daily production work sheets.
· Assist Catering Manager in developing and maintaining rotating menus.
· Assist other senior chefs as required.
· Ensure all equipment used within the kitchen is cleaned as per the food safety program
· Participate in any special purpose focus groups such as Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, Emergency procedures and quality assurance providing specialist input from a catering perspective on an as needs basis.
· Other duties that may arise from time to time
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
· Trade Certificate or relevant experience
· Basic Food Handlers Course
· Food Safety Supervisors certificate
Desirable
· Experience in production kitchens
· Communication skills to a standard that allows for harmonious work relationships
· Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
