This is to be achieved through compliance with the Metro North Values, adherence to all prescribed systems and processes, and effective management of both internal trades staff and external contractors.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Manage the Plumbing team to ensure compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, the Health Services Act and local guidelines to safeguard the interests of Queensland Health and its employees. This position is responsible for ensuring all work packages are delivered in a manner satisfying all required Workplace Health and Safety requirements including the MNH Safety Management Plan and all electrical safe systems of work.
- Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices.
- Manage own and Team Members leave balances to ensure at all times that Annual Leave entitlements held do not surpass 6 weeks of accrued leave without approval from the Manager BEMS.
- Manage staff in such a manner as to affect a positive outcome for each staff member of the team and the departments clients. This includes day to day performance management and annual PDP process management.
- Manage licence registers and completion of own and team members annual mandatory training requirements. Undertake as required staff training to ensure the team have the capabilities required to manage a highly technical facility. This includes CPR and LVR for electrical licence holders.
- Manage the resources of the plumbing trades team to maintain best practice standards and meet legislative requirements for all the plumbing services of Redcliffe Hospital facilities or Metro North facilities. This will include a mix of inside core hours delivery and outside of core hours delivery to meet the requirements of the facilities.
