The role
ALS Geochemistry is looking for a Trades Assistant to maintain our equipment across both sites in Kalgoorlie.
Working in a close-knit team, you will report to the Maintenance Manager and assist with routine maintenance, fixing equipment across the two sites, and attending to breakdowns as required.
This full-time role will be responsible for:
- Routine maintenance of all sample preparation and fire assay equipment.
- Building and fabrication of laboratory equipment.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance.
- Maintaining plant and equipment.
The Essentials
- Current Forklift licence (preferred).
- Trade qualifications are not necessary. However, previous experience with power tools & equipment on a professional or personal level is essential.
- Previous fault-finding and repair experience is highly regarded
- Welding and grinding experience desired.
- Excellent work ethic
- Committed to a safety culture while maximising productivity
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team
- Reliable, physically fit, and prepared for manual tasks.
- High level of communication
- The ability to handle a busy and diverse workload
