Stevens Bulk Services is the supplier of specialised machinery to the bulk shipping industry. The Australian owned & operated family company was established in 1990 and operate nationwide.
We have available a position for a Trades Assistant this is essentially a maintenance hands on role with in house training available .
Located in Kwinana workshop, this position will provide assisting with servicing, maintenance, repairs and cleaning to machinery used in the unloading of bulk vessels at the Kwinana Bulk Jetty.
Ensuring all machinery, namely, Excavators, Skid Steers, Forklifts, Grabs, Enviro & standard Hoppers, Conveyor etc. are maintained, serviced and cleaned at all times in accordance with the high company standards.
Being available for a rotating, on call roster when vessels are being unloaded or as required.
Please note, this role requires a current driver's licence and police clearance.
Applicants hourly rate will be determined based on Skills, Qualifications and experience, superannuation & holiday contributions are paid extra on hourly rate.
Inhouse training available to employees to enable improvement and upgrade skills
Duties:
- Servicing, Repairs and Cleaning Machines at the Port and workshop.
- When required, being available to provide support to all vessels using Stevens equipment.
- Operate forklifts and EWP (if licensed)
- General workshop duties including preventative maintenance, reports & inspections.
- Liaising with staff and contractors at the port.
- Assist with loading / unloading Stevens machinery from trucks.

Essential qualities for the role include:
- W.A drivers license (Forklift & EWP would be favourable)
- Operate Steam cleaning equipment.
- Living in W.A & have a strong work ethic and are self-motivated.
- Can multi task and enjoy being part of a team.
- Ability to work unsupervised with a high standard of safety for yourself and others.
- Attention to detail both personally and professionally.
- Flexible to work weekends and out of hours when ships are working.
Qualification / Experience:
- Good work history with references.
- Have good oral & written communication & computer skills.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate a level of analytical and problem solving skills.
- Physically fit and able to do manual work.
- Able to pass police check and pre-employment drug testing.
