This role is based at Iron Bridge Mine, located 145km away from Port Hedland, home to Fortescue's port facility.
About the role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Trades Assistant to join our dynamic team, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. Operating on a 14/7 roster, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential support to the maintenance department, ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of mining operations through continuous training and coaching.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting tradesmen and servicemen in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of plant and associated components as directed.
- Collaborating closely with mechanical trades personnel under their guidance.
- Maintaining cleanliness and returning all workshop tools to the storage area in optimal condition after use.
- Upholding excellent housekeeping standards consistently.
- Contributing to the daily refuelling of plant equipment.
- Performing plant and light vehicle washing as required.
- Aiding in the boiler maker shop as needed.
- Undertaking training in service truck operation and servicing.
About you
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
- Possess a robust work ethic and an enthusiastic attitude.
- Bring relevant experience from a similar role in a mining environment.
- Hold an EWP / W@H ticket.
- An HR license is preferable.
- Experience in tilt tray operation is desirable.
- High-pressure jetting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
