We are seeking a versatile and adaptable Trades Assistant to join our team. If you are a skilled Trades Assistant who possess a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, and are committed to safety and compliance, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of our team.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities, including:
- Performing preventive and reactive general maintenance tasks such as Air Conditioning, Painting, Plumbing, Tiling, and Carpentry, as needed.
- Collaborating with Facilities and Maintenance Managers and Supervisors to efficiently execute tasks and services in accordance with the contractual obligations.
- Ensuring full compliance and consistency with the contract and BGIS business systems.
- Upholding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental (E) policies and procedures to be met and maintained by all stakeholders.
Knowledge/Experience:
Essential:
- Experience in a building facilities management environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven capability of working within an environment using QA, OH&S, and environmental systems.
- Ability to develop safe work method statements for relevant work tasks.
- Able to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/innovative approach to problems and opportunities.
Desirable:
- Retail or commercial building maintenance experience.
- Handyman experience in Plumbing, Painting, Tiling, Carpentry & General Repairs.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Training in current OH&S, QA, and ideally environmental legislations and systems.
Desirable:
- PPP Experience.
- Electrical or relevant trade qualification - TAFE or equivalent.
- Formal tertiary qualifications in a building/facilities management related discipline.
- EWP Ticket.
- Current Driver's License.
