As they expand their operations, our client is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join the Internal Sales team as a Trades Desk Assistant.
Position Overview:
As a Trades Desk Assistant, you will manage face-to-face sales & inbound customer requests. You will be a crucial link between field sales, in-store operations, and the delivery teams to ensure smooth order processing and timely delivery. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the timber industry while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage face-to-face customer requests in trade sales.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge and provide expert advice to customers.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to arrange transportation and delivery of timber shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to support efficient inventory management.
- Manage customer issues such as missed deliveries or returns.
- Assist in the preparation of sales contracts, invoices, and other documentation related to timber transactions.
- Provide administrative support to the timber trading team, including managing correspondence and organising trade-related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the timber industry preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with various customers and team members.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of timber species, grades, and characteristics is desirable.
