About the role:
Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate or recently qualified professional looking to launch your career in the fast-paced world of financial services trading?
Join our dynamic team as a Trading Specialist where you will be assisting the Interest Rate Manager managing the Bank’s high quality Liquid Asset portfolio.
What you’ll do
- Utilize pricing models and market insights to price and execute interest rate hedging derivatives for customers, considering market conditions and counterparties.
- Accurately price spot FX for customer transactions, enhancing customer satisfaction and trust.
- Drive trading profits through strategic interest rate and foreign exchange risk-taking activities.
- Share valuable market insights and analysis with the wider Treasury team to inform decision-making.
- Maintain accurate data for end-of-day profit or loss reporting to the Treasurer and CFO, ensuring adherence to stop loss and loss referral limits.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with counterparties and internal teams to facilitate smooth trading operations.
- Stay informed about evolving regulatory frameworks, including APS116, Basel 3, and APRA oversight of ADIs.
What you’ll bring
- A financial mindset with a degree in a finance, maths or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in financial services industry and a proven track record in trading or investing (personal or professional).
- A self-motivated leader who thrives in both independent and collaborative environments.
- Advanced spreadsheet & word processing skills, coding skills will be very favourably considered.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical skills
- Being comfortable with ambiguity and generating innovative ideas that drive real P&L results.
- AFMA Dealer Accreditation is desirable
