Traffic Manager

Due to company growth, we are looking for an experienced Traffic Manager to join our growing infrastructure team on one of our metro projects involving the design and construction of roads, structures, noise walls, street lighting and ITS and shared paths.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following as a minimum:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or equivalent
• Advanced Worksite Traffic Management Certification
• Relevant Main Roads experience in a previous role is highly desired
• Minimum 5 years experience working on road projects requiring advanced traffic management planning, complex arrangements, short and long term plans, temporary road alignments, roadside traffic barrier systems and road closure systems and detours
• Experience in applying temporary traffic management planning requirements to complex and staged road construction projects, including design of temporary road alignments and road safety barrier systems
• Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specifications, standards and implications for project accountabilities
• Strong understanding of the Project Traffic Plan, Project Design Management Plan, Quality Management Plan, Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan
• Effective time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Current Australian Drivers Licence

In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Managing, planning, designing, coordinating and monitoring all on-site temporary traffic management to achieve project time and budget objectives
• Coordinating and administering traffic management activities to ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
• Monitoring temporary traffic management implementation for adherence to approved traffic management plans
• Reporting to the Area Construction Managers and Construction Manager on traffic related scope
• Interpreting designs and work methodologies to identify traffic management needs and requirements
• Developing traffic management plans for all project work phases and locations ensuring the plans are compliant with client, local government and industry requirements
• Liaising effectively with Roads Traffic Management Consultants to ensure traffic management plans are prepared in according with project requirements, reviewed and independently signed off in a timely manner
• Maintaining traffic management budgets, managing costs and preparing forecasts
• Assigning work and reviewing for accuracy and adherence to required standards
• Coordinating road safety audits
• Demonstrating sound people management skills by managing work and performance of traffic engineers and subcontractors to achieve optimal project outcomes
