As a Traffic & Transport Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advising on traffic and transportation services, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic within Council.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on traffic and transportation services, addressing the needs of motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport and freight operators.
- Implement and administer traffic and transport-related projects under the general direction of the Traffic & Transport Coordinator.
- Evaluate and advise the Engineering Development section on the impact of development applications on transport, traffic, and parking.
- Review and provide input on Traffic Management Plans submitted to the department for approval.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and requests, adhering to performance standards adopted in the Customer Service Charter.
- Undertake and assist engineering staff with various traffic management issues, including investigations, reports, and correspondence.
- Implement strategies for cost-effective traffic monitoring, involving data collection, analysis, storage, and retrieval.
- Liaise with Vic Roads, Department of Transport, Public Transport Victoria, Emergency Services, Victoria Police, and other statutory authorities in relation to transportation issues.
