About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) has an exciting opportunity tailored just for you! We're seeking passionate individuals for the roles of Trainee Communications Maintainer & Trainee Signals Maintainer. As part of our team, you'll be instrumental in the upkeep of critical communications systems, as well as assisting with the maintenance of our signalling system infrastructure across our urban rail network. About you
No technical communications or signals maintenance experience is required for these roles however you will possess the following qualities:
- A mechanical aptitude and proficiency in utilising an array of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and work well in team environment.
- Have a strong focus on safety.
- Display a thirst for knowledge and a willingness to learn.
- Be adaptable to working irregular and unsociable hours, including weekends and nights as necessitated by the job requirements.
- A current unrestricted C Class WA Drivers Licence

There are three full time, permanent positions, one for Signals and two for Communications. Please state your preference, if any, through the application process. All roles are available for an immediate start. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent and fixed term appointments will be made for this or similar positions.
Please note you will be required to complete the PTA Integrity and Qualification Consent Form and an Australian National Police Clearance (NPC) should you become the recommended applicant through the recruitment process. Adverse outcomes of Integrity Reviews, NPCs and Drivers Licence checks (where applicable) may not necessarily disqualify an applicant from the selection process. All PTA positions are subject to ongoing integrity screening.
